The latest on Diwali (October 26) is that it will be a straight head on clash between Vijay and Suriya at the Tamil box-office worldwide.

Yes, Vijay’s Velayutham will release along with Suriya’s 7aum Arivu on October 26, making it an interesting Diwali fight.

A leading distributor confirmed: “ On Sunday (Oct 9) Velayutham ads with theatre listing announcing it as a Diwali release will be published in newspapers. Already 7aum Arivu ads have appeared announcing it as a Diwali release with complete theatre listing.”

The other two films scheduled for Diwali- Dhanush’s Selvaraghavan directed Mayakkam Enna and STR’s Dharani directed Osthi have informed the trade that they are postponing their release to November.

Meanwhile to make it a triangular fight, Shah Rukh Khan’s RA.One is releasing for Diwali in Hindi and Tamil. The highlight of the film will be a one-minute cameo appearance of superstar Rajinikanth in the film.

SRK himself is flying down to Chennai on Monday (Oct 10) for the audio launch of the Tamil version.

Vijay to shoot in Srinagar

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will shake his legs in the backdrop of picturesque locales of Srinagar for 'Velayudham', as the only one song which is left to be shot will be canned in the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir.

Select members of the cast and crew of 'Velayudham' will leave for Srinagar on September 17 to shoot the number 'Molachu moonu ilai vidala...' Listen here They will be back within a week, sources in the know tell us.

What is more interesting about this particular song is that it would have both the heroines of the film - Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani - sharing screen space with Vijay. It will be choreographed by a popular dance master.

Meanwhile, director 'Jayam' Raja is upbeat about the movie's prospects in the box-office. "Velayudham will be tailor-made for the fans of Vijay. How an ordinary man becomes a super hero is the one-line that can best describe the story," he says.

Vijay shoots with Angela Johnson

Sify.com had first broken the story that Angela Johnson, the Kingfisher Calendar girl is Vijay’s heroine in his new film to be directed by AR Murgadoss.

Last week, cameraman Sathosh Sivan did a hush-hush photo shoot at a Chennai studio with Angela and Vijay.

The results of the photo shoot are said to be amazing. Angela looks very glamorous and is said to be photogenic and Murugadoss, it seems is extremely happy with the outcome.

However, Murgadoss is trying his best to keep Angela under the wraps.

This untitled film is produced by Vijay’s dad SAC in association with producer Aascar Ravichandran and is expected to kick start by the end of the September.

Murgadoss will be working with Vijay for the first time in this action packed adventure film.

The untitled film will be shot by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan.

The music director is yet to be firmed up, though there are rumours that Harris Jayaraj may do the film.

VELAYUTHAM- ‘GENELIA AND HANSIKA WERE INSECURE’

It is not often that you come across a director who openly talks about his heroines. But that is what director M Raja, who is busy with Velayudham, starring Vijay, Hansika and Genelia, did recently. With two top heroines in the film, the director was quizzed, at a press meet, if there were any catfights o...n the sets and he diplomatically said that there was healthy competition between the two actresses on the sets. “They were insecure but they didn’t show it outside. But, I could feel that sense of insecurity,” he said before adding, “However, both the actresses didn’t create any problems on account of this during filming.” Hansika plays a village belle in the film while Genelia plays a journalist. Now, what is interesting is that the Velayudham unit will be leaving for Srinagar on September 17 to shoot a song (Molachu Moonu Ela Vidala…) which will feature both the heroines! We wonder if the director will have a tough time!

Get Set for Nanban logo

Anything that happens with director Shankar's ventures make headlines instantly and his latest offing 'Nanban' with the top young heroes of the Tamil film industry is no exception. The latest news flowing out of the 'Nanban' camp is that Shankar has come out with a creative icon for his 'Nanban.'

This symbol will be more or less like a logo for the film reveal sources close to the unit and they are also confident that it will be a hit with the movie goers. The symbol will be the three lead characters back-to-back with Vijay in the centre, and Jiiva and Srikanth on his either sides. The picture shows the stars adorning a crown and decked in jewellery all inclusive of the 'kundalas' (ear rings), necklaces and vanky (for their biceps)!

And for that modern appeal the lead men are clad in T-shirts!

Sources close to the 'Nanban' team revealed that Shankar was looking for a right image or an icon similar to that of Bollywood's '3 Idiots' which had the lead stars sitting in specially customized chairs. The image as well as the chairs became a huge fad after the posters were out.

Shankar might have wanted a similar USP for his 'Nanban' and that's when the idea to come out with a Tamil version of his 'Nanban' icon might have struck him!

Velayutham Audio Released

It’s going to be an unprecedented , mammoth show for Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay on August 28. The audio launch of Velayudham directed by Raja, is set to be a memorable event.

Scheduled to be held at Pudhur CSI Grounds at Madurai, about two lakh fans of Vijay’s are expected to attend. The show will have time set apart for charity, as they will be distributing aid to the needy and adopting five medical students from economically weaker sections for payment of tuition fees. An added attraction: Vijay Antony will be performing live on stage. Sources say that Vijay will be brought to the stage in a
special way with his two sizzling girls Hansika and Genelia accompanying him. The actor is also expected to make a few political announcements at the event.

'Velayudham' audio on August 28! - Breaking News

'Velayudham' that features Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D' Souza is one of the biggies that's lined up for a release this year. The music for this action-packed superhero project has been scored by Vijay Antony who has earlier given a few chartbusters for Vijay, while the megaphone is wielded by Jayam Raja.

Jayam Ravi, the director's younger brother has now announced to Ilayathalapathy's fans that the film will see an audio launch on August 28! Speaking on this, he said, "Velayudham audio launch on August 28 in Madurai amidst thousands of Vijay fans! It can't get bigger and better than this!

'Velayudham' audio around August 15

Expectations on this Vijay starrer are sky-high, and the many reasons for this need not even be explained upon. Fans are eagerly awaiting the audio release date of this film but no official announcement has been made yet, although it has been confirmed that this would be an August release.

Meanwhile, the director's brother and actor Jayam Ravi, has expressed to Ilayathalapathy fans that 'Velayudham' will see an audio launch around August 15!

"Got this out of the lions mouth, director Raja says Velayudham audio launch will be around August 15, enjoy Thalapathy fans. The wait will be worth it", says an excited Jayam Ravi who will be shortly traveling to Goa for the shoot on 'Aadhi Bhagavan'.

'Velayudham' is Vijay's superhero project where he romances Hansika Motwani. Genelia D' Souza plays a television reporter and the tunes are composed by Vijay Antony.

Vijay shuns 'Paghalvan'?

Actor Vijay has a hectic schedule ahead of him. Post the success of 'Kaavalan' that  redefined Vijay's image in the Tamil film industry, and the number of projects for him with big banners in the pipeline, Vijay is one happy man.

M Raja's 'Velayudham' is all set to hit theatres towards the end of August and the actor is eager to please his fans once again, this time with a bevy of beauties who share screen space with him in the film.

On the cards next is the Shankar-directed multi-starrer and the Tamil remake of '3 Idiots.' With Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth in the lead and the grandeur that oozes out of every Shankar project; this film is highly expected by fans to be a treat for Diwali.

Amidst this, Vijay had earlier agreed to work on a project with director Seeman that was titled 'Paghalvan.' But the project was delayed initially from the director's end due to a few reasons. NANBAN @ FINAL SCHEDULE OF SHOOT

Both Velayutham and Nanban are at final schedules of shoot. Final schedule of Nanban shoot begins today and it will continue for next 15 days at Victoria hostel near Presidency college,Chennai and AVM studios.

Today some scenes were shot which featured Vijay, Jiiva,Srikanth and Sathyaraj. Followed by this the team will shoot few scenes in AVM studios next week. Shankar is planning for a pongal festival release.

Meanwhile Velayutham audio is expected on last week of August and Movie will hit screens on September end.

VIJAY JOINS WITH GAUTHAM MENON FOR 55TH MOVIE

Its officially confirmed that after Shankar, & AR Murugadoss, Vijay will join hands with Gautham Vasudev Menon for a spy thriller. There are four missions advertised as of now and they are New York, Paris, Brazil and China. Vijay is expected to play a James Bond type of spy agent in this film.

Earlier Gautham menon approached Vijay for KAAKHA KAAKHA,but due to unavoidable circumstances,Vijay was unable to sign the project. And from then on both Vijay & Gautham Menon wants to work together & also fans were eagerly waiting for this deadly combo.Finally after recent meetings between the two the project is finalised.

TITLE IS """ YOHAN: ADHYAYAM ONDRU """. The project is expected to start by June 2012, & it will be Vijay's 55th movie.
